“The concept and experimental work of the Highrise Emergency Aerial Response Team (H.E.A.R.T.) opened a new chapter in the history of vertical and aerial rope rescue. Now we intend to create a new online platform to share our knowledge, vision and steps that we took to go forward and ensure the future of vertical access and rope rescue.
ADVANCING THE FUTURE OF VERTICAL RESCUE
In the 20th century, when rope access techs look up at the top of the tallest tower in the world, they have dreamt of working up there. I was one of them.
In the 21th century, that dream became real when in 2003 one of them, set his foot for the very first time on the bootom of the exterior of the Antenna Mast – the tallest in the world, the top of the CN Tower. That was me. And when I stood up there on the top of the urban vertical world, I realized what would be the challenges for a steady helicopter hovering maneuvers and precise rope rescue or aerial extraction of people.
And in a short time with a team of pilots and air crew man I will make a new High Reference air rescue training.
This will be one of the rope rescuer’s most ambitious undertakings. The direct result of a decade’s long global space race and of a joint mission, created to extend human exploration to the farthest reaches of rope rescue.
This will be the story of the Extraordinary New TV Series – the greatest adventure that will show the most complex air rescue operations ever.”
