Be part of a pioneering movement that contributes to the development of advanced commercial aerospace. It’s a more sustainable way of long-distance travel, bypassing the thick air of our atmosphere and gliding without resistance through space. Just using fuel to launch and land, and none mid-air. Only a couple of decades from now, when people will be used to outer-atmosphere traveling – they will look back on the travelers that defined this movement. That could be you. Be a pioneer. Become an astronaut. It will change your life. And, eventually, that of many others.
25 years ago, after endurance tests on the borderline of modern physics, the Star City Training Center chose the FORTIS OFFICIAL COSMONAUTS CHRONOGRAPH as part of their Official Cosmonauts’ equipment. This year starts with a new mission. Not only for the AMADEE-18 astronauts but also for all mankind. It is a mission to discover what humans will have to bear once they landed on Mars. Along that Ivan Kristoff is on a mission to find out how Mars Simulations can help rescuer to be more prepared and their equipment can be more suitable for extreme conditions with Space One Forum. Fortis, a company that has over 100 years of history, became official timekeeper for the AMADEE-18 Mars Analog Mission. Ivan Kristoff, the Global Brand Ambassador of Fortis, is inspired by the concept of Mars Simulation for specialized equipment in harsh environment, as close as possible to the Red planet’s temperatures and terrain. What is more important that for a manned mission to Mars, astronauts must be prepared for the extreme situation in the hostile planet. More…
Follow in the footsteps of Yuri Gagarin, John Glenn and Neil Armstrong. Legends who have conquered space. Adventurers who were responsible for a number of ‘firsts’ that had a significant impact on the world. The first man in space. The first man to orbit the Earth. The first man on the moon. You can be a part of history, too. Travel through space with the New Space Expeditions. Take your place to become the First Bulgarian woman to conquer space.
This year is the 40th Anniversary of the First Bulgarian in space and the 25h Anniversary of Fortis Swiss Watches in space. On the 12th of April, we will present our new project for Space Adventure and the Four worlds of Fortis that we look for the future of rescue – Sea – Air -Land – Space. More…
With battle proven concepts and methodology for training, advanced technology that was used for that period and now available to civilians, and with the space travel affordable to volunteer rescuers, we aim to help the New Bulgarian Cosmonaut to fly near the edge of space and contribute to the R&D for new SAR initiatives and satellite navigation. Ivan Kristoff participated in BaselWorld 2015 and BaselWorld 2017 met with the XCOR Team to discuss the possibility to become the New Bulgarian Astronaut to conquer space… Now he works on the new concept to become the First Bulgarian woman to conquer space.
Astronauts say there is nothing that rivals the sensation of being launched to a rolling start. Seeing the earth’s surface around you being morphed into swipes of color while you’re pressed into your pilot seat. And seeing the Earth getting smaller and smaller in your cockpit rear view camera.
ON THE WINGS OF AN ANGEL
30-40 Minutes of gliding back to Earth.
Sit tight and enjoy the view. And what a view it is. You will be overwhelmed by the vastness of outer space and the brilliance of Earth, as seen from the cockpit, which offers an extremely wide view.
CONTROL FREAKS ONLY
So you’re ready for an adventure in space. Why not experience it sitting right next to the pilot? See what he sees. A firsthand experience of traveling into space, sitting right where the action is. Not the backseat… in the cockpit. No other passengers, just you and the pilot.
XCOR Space Expeditions offered flights, reaching the edge of space, an altitude of 60 kilometers. Now with Virgin Galactic we can reach the internationally recognized boundary of space, more than 100 kilometers above Earth. One moment it’s all roaring rocket engines, G-forces and vibrations. The next: perfect silence, unlike anything you have experienced on Earth. Astronauts say this is one of the most profound moments of space flight.
INSTANT WEIGHTLESSNESS
As soon as the engines switch off, you are weightless. An extreme sensation.
WING CEREMONY
Returning on the platform, during an official ceremony you will be awarded your astronauts wings in the company of your own personal guests.
103 KM, PAST THE KARMAN LINE
You’re in space and officially an astronaut. 6 Minutes of enjoying Planet Earth as only 500 people did before.
SCIENCE, NOT FICTION
Every flight offers the opportunity to conduct research on board. Specially designed compartments carry research materials that may, or may not, react to zero gravity, for instance. You can carry out specific research tasks. So, you can also contribute to scientific development!
In 2012, Ivan Kristoff participated in Fortis Swiss Made Watches Space Art Contest. In 2015 Ivan is organizing an Aerial Rope Access Photo Shoot Experience around the world as part of his “Mentors and Apprentices” Program. This Arts Initiative brings experienced pilots, rope access technicians, artists, musicians and aerial photographers with highly promising young artists to collaborate a one-to-one mentoring relationship. The program will start during Intersec 2018 and we hope to initiate enriching dialogue between artists of different generations, and cultures, fulfilling its aim to make a significant contribution to the visual presentation of the aviation industry. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES TO BECOME THE BEST ASTRONAUT YOU CAN BE..
We experienced the F-16 BLOCK 70/72 cockpit demonstrator. with the Fortis Aeromaster Professional Swiss Watch and the XCOR simulator during BaselWorld 2017 just to feel our personal equipment comfort. Our next step is to encounter a world of G-forces and high-speed movement. The training prepares you both physically and mentally for the extreme sensations you will experience during your flight. A highly realistic simulation of the space flight, experienced from a look-a-like cockpit, gets your body accustomed to all possible G-forces and prepares your mind for what is coming. The high-resolution video footage of the space flight makes it come extremely close to the real thing. More…
ENGINE CUT-OFF: PERFECT SILENCE
One moment it’s all roaring rocket engines, G-forces and vibrations. The next: perfect silence, unlike anything you have experienced on Earth. Astronauts say this is one of the most profound moments of space flight.
Now, we aim to create an elite school for the top one percent of our rescuers. It’s purpose will be to teach the new art of aerial rescue and to insure that the handful of people who graduate will be the best air rescuers in the world. Today, in the Bulgarian Military Academy, we plan to call it:
AERIAL RESCUE ACADEMY. More….
The movie industry and the futurism are great showcase of what could be the next challenges for humanity and given the big ambition of the mankind to travel and eventually colonize Mars, we can benefit the billion dollar movie making industry and scientific approach to their scenario writing. That is why we take serious such endeavors and play various scenarios of what could happen on Earth and how we can benefit from the constantly improving technology that was meant for space exploration and can be useful for SAR operations here and in space.
In the the video compilation with actions sequences of Edge of Tomorrow movie, Ivan Kristoff portrays his visualization of a real story for Educating the Digital Generation of Europe and the link between them will be explained in special Forum and Workshop for the New Generation of Rescuers. More…
In the BLADE RUNNER movie, early in the this Century, advanced robot evolution – beings virtually identical to a humans – known as a Replicants, were superior in strength and agility, and at least equal in intelligence, to the genetic engineers who created them. Their enhanced strength made them ideal for the idea for the Enhanced Rescuer that we, the R&D INNOVATION TEAM want to work with partners like Fortis Swiss Watches.. That is a good sample of Re/scue/plicants that can be used in the hazardous exploration and colonization of other planets, Empowering the Digital Generation of Europe and Embedded Extreme Journalists.
