One of the scenario Ivan Kristoff is working is how to film in VR and 360 degree panoramic view the inside of confined space where a mock fire is created for training in extreme condition purpose. The Marketing team of Antaira Technologies, a leading developer and manufacturer that provides high-quality industrial networking and communication product solutions, has made a great job to assemble a mini scale of ship that can portray a SAR scenario, were they showed their full spectrum of product lines that feature reliable Ethernet infrastructures.
For half Bulgarian, half Canadian Ivan Kristoff, every rope access technician or extreme climber, should be able to position himself in any way that can hold him on the vertical and have no fear. For this position there was only pure magic and special skills that kept the artist like glued to the rocks. Literally!
Ivan Kristoff, aka The Canadian Spiderman, climbs solo on the vertical of “The German” tour at the Lakatnik Rocks in Svoge, Bulgaria. “The German” was named after a German climber falls to his death from the steep rooks last century and no other, to our knowledge has climbed the tour solo, in free climbing style.
Being able to position yourself in reverse position, or upside-down, as Ivan likes it, like no other, is the true testament of an experienced specialist who has worked in all kinds of extreme situations at extreme heights and weather conditions. Its hows more than courage, it shows know-how that makes other wonder…
One of Ivan Kristoff’s projects is to create an Institute for Vertical Operations (I.V.A.N.) by 2020. In it’s Training Mountain Base at the bottom of Rila Mountain, at the heart of Bulgaria, Ivan is creating a Bio Garden that all vegetables will be freshly picked and cooked in the summer during training sessions.
At this photo Ivan Kristoff is hanging a few hundred meters off the ground with his very first Fortis Limited Edition watch that was given to him as a special gift for the 100th Anniversary of Fortis Swiss Watches company. In 2017 Ivan was chosen as the very first FORTIS Brand Ambassador.
From exploring the undiscovered speleo routes and galleries underground, at the age of 15 years, to setting a world record in the air – Ivan experienced many difficult challenges throughout his entire life. One of them is the climbing solo on the top of the world’s tallest structure in 2003.
