21 Oct Sofia 2020 – The European Capital of Extreme Sports
His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, the UAE Minister of Economy meets with Ivan Kristoff’ to discuss the possibility to set new world records to promote extreme sports. Kristoff’s experience in promoting extreme sports, his native country Bulgaria, hometowns Sofia and Toronto, Canada have generated a lot of interesting and unique publicity for the destinations. Now he is joining forces with friends and the Bulgarian business to exchange experience with his Dubai partners.
Ivan shared his idea for innovative filming of the tallest buildings in Dubai to HH Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and HH Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum during Dubai Helishow 2010 and still this idea is innovative and can be presented during Intersec 2018 in the Intersec Fire Conference.
VERTICALRESCUELAB
Ivan Kristoff is partnering with the Electric Vehicles Industrial Cluster /EVIC/ to build living VR Lab for urban innovation in Sofia. With a team of Bulgarian architects we are designing a Vertical Rescue Academy, a new kind of mixed-use, complete community on Sofia’s northern end with a 360 degree panoramic view of the adjacent mountains.
The project – called Vertical Rescue Academy – will be located in a new neighborhood called Buxton, located near the forefront of Vitosha Mountain. It will combine forward-thinking urban design and new digital technology to create people-centered neighborhoods that achieve precedent-setting levels of sustainability, affordability, e-mobility and economic opportunity. Once built it will be an example for the rest of the world on how to build institutions that will have an impact on the future of rescue. It will bring a different approach, including both planning, process community and technology together, rethinking how we build smart buildings in the 21st century. Now is the ideal time to start figuring out how to leverage technology to make buildings and cities together. Technologist think “Why can’t we solve this thing quick? Why can’t we scale things fast? How we can do things better?” and the urbanists knows that things take time and you have to move deliberately. It is the convergent of those two ways of thinking that can lead to real powerful outcomes.
We want to share ideas with the leading experts in Dubai and the exhibitors and guest Speakers of world renowned venues like Dubai World AI Show, Extreme Show Expo, Intersec, and Dubai Helishow who will come from all over the world. VerticalRescueLab will be using technology as a way of enhancing human interaction, enhancing the rescue community to bring us closer together, supporting the sport’s activities in way that take away a lot of the barriers that separate us. This initiative will bring together the local and global tech talents and entrepreneurial clusters that exist in Sofia and around the world, giving them opportunities to actually take these new solutions to scale and to commercialize it in a way that we have never seen before in Bulgaria.
We hope to work hand and hand with the City of Sofia and the Government of Bulgaria to build on the region;s tech boom and create new economic opportunities. This will be a global draw of new ideas for economic growth and development. We will get the right technology to apply it with the energy and passion of our partners who will make this thing incredibly successful. That is going to be the key difference in the upcoming meetings in Dubai, to get their ideas too and what they love about extreme sports and their city. We encourage people to be involved and give us their feedback, we want them to make and shape this project. We have the opportunity to fundamentally redefine what a Capital for extreme sports can be. With its surrounding mountains and mineral spa centers, waterfalls, ski slopes and climbing rocks, Sofia has the potential to grow that other cities don’t.
The announcement for partnership was made at the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency during a press-conference with Ivan Kristoff, Ivan Levkov and featured remarks from Gen. Zlatko ZLatev, as well as Boyko Borissov, Prime Minister of Bulgaria. As an ex Mayor of Sofia, Boyko Borissov knows how to rebuild Sofia as an example for an European capital of the extreme sports.
Bulgaria and the he UAE, the country in which Dubai resides, are relatively small countries, but have some similar identities, like the coasts and they are famous destinations for extreme sports. like small in strategies to attract tourists with the sport entertainment and can collaborate with theirs diverse nature.
Bulgaria is in a position to attract innovative, exciting, interesting and dynamic firms that can help transform and improve our city. That is why we are forming an International Vertical Access Network to visit Dubai during Dubai Airshow 2017, Intersec 2018 and Dubai Helishow 2018.
VERTICALRESCUE.com FORUM
One of the projects to be discuss is to organize together a Vertical Rescue Forum, which will be first held in Sofia in 2020. VR is a forum for the global Rescue ecosystem, where government officials, industry leaders, experts, startup entrepreneurs and volunteers share ideas, explore technologies and join forces for shaped growth.
This forum is essential to growing the knowledge we have and sharing it with each other. And for many of us, it’s a huge part of our everyday lives. But most of the world’s rescue organizations do not communicate in the most efficient ways. The VR Forum is I.V.A.N.- led initiative with the goal of creating bridges across borders, bringing innovation and the benefits of connectivity to the world of rescue. Imagine that lives can be saved on top of the highest structure in the world, where no one has dare to event try to do it or train in the most advanced technological way. Now, imagine what you could contribute when you are given the opportunity to create the future of rescue. The more we connect, the better it gets
The technological advancements of VR communications and e-mobility experience will help us achieve this goal.
