24 Feb Flying Over The Seven Rila Lakes
Ivan Kristoff created the Fortis Experience Project with owners and fans of Fortis Swiss Watches. On board of Agusta A 109 K2 , he captured amazing photos and video from the top the lakes in Rila mountain. In his Grandfather’s Pocket book since 1919, Ivan Kristoff’s sew a drawing of the peaks of Rila and the Seven Rial Lakes, whch inspired him to capture this destiantion from the air, near century later. He shared his idea with a friend during the Bistrica A.I.R. show and in a short time it became a reality.
Ivan Minev Vulchanov, Kristoff’s grandfather has been a teacher and the founder of the first Bulgarian free Night School in the realy 1900’s. His Family name Vulchanov, comes from the Bulgarian workd “вълк” – а walf, because the legend goes that his grandfather has been surrounded by a few wolves and he has taken one of them by the tail and beeten the other wolves. So by chance, during the photo session of the “Flying over the Top of the Rila Lakes with Fortis Aeromaster” filming from a helicopter, there wa s a scene with a wolf on the top of the highest Rila Lake.
To follow up with an artistic diary, of drawings, poems, letters and thoughts,as seen in Ivan Valchanov diary, Ivan wanted to show the beaty of the Seven Rila Lakes, with breath taking images. For this reason he did his Location Scouting around the Seven Rila Lakes and is prepared for a new mission – to show them in a new way, with the full dynamics of aerial operations in action. That is when Ivan Kristoff created the Fortis Experience Project with owners and fans of Fortis Swiss Watches. On board of Agusta A 109 K2 , he captured amazing photos and video from the top the lakes in Rila mountain
