Worker ropes in police

Police and firefighters responded to a Scarborough high-rise after reports of a man scaling the building. Initially believed to be a suicide attempt or unauthorized stunt, authorities discovered that Ivan Kristoff, a 28-year-old “rope access” construction worker, was performing a demonstration of high-altitude rescue skills. The incident arose from a miscommunication with the property manager. Kristoff used the opportunity to promote his plan for a volunteer high-rise rescue team, but local fire officials dismissed the idea, stating they have their own trained teams and equipment.
